The Supreme Court issued a temporary block on President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard in the Chicago area this week.

The court’s unsigned order stated that the president’s ability to federalize the National Guard only applies to “exceptional” circumstances.

The high court stated, “At this preliminary stage, the Government has failed to identify a source of authority that would allow the military to execute the laws in Illinois.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the justices of the Supreme Court to be discerning in their interpretation of the president’s constitutional authority.
  • For wisdom for President Trump and officials in his administration as they seek to uphold the law.
  • For federal judges at every level of the Judicial Branch as they hear challenges to the president’s actions and orders.
